group training
Group training at Beaver Run K9 is perfect for teaching, testing, and proofing your dog's obedience in realistic situations. I strongly believe that obedience training is most effective when practiced around real life, escalating distractions. This helps your dog learn how to stay focused, calm, and confident no matter what's happening around them. Approaching it this way also gives us as handlers greater confidence and control.
My structured group training classes focus on essential skills like reliable leash manners, impulse control, recall, proper socialization, and more. Each session is designed to reinforce positive behaviors in challenging environments, ensuring your dog responds even when distractions are high. With weekly meetings, you and your dog will build on the previous lessons, continuously improving obedience and responsiveness.
Each class is two hours long and structured to cover all the foundational steps of effective obedience training. You'll receive hands-on coaching and personalized guidance tailored to your and your dog's needs. Whether working with a young puppy, an energetic adolescent, or fine-tuning behaviors in an older dog, these group classes are perfect for helping you achieve lasting results.
You’ll leave equipped with practical exercises, clear instructions, and the support needed to practice at home. My ultimate goal is for you to have a dog that's not only well behaved but also happy and eager to follow your lead in any situation.
After each dog training course, Beaver Run K9 hosts a weekly training group designed to help graduates continue building on their skills in a supportive environment.
This group serves as a way to:
• Reinforce training: Dogs and handlers can practice what they’ve learned in real-world scenarios.
• Improve reliability: Training in a group setting with distractions strengthens obedience and focus.
• Build confidence: Both dogs and owners gain experience working around other dogs in a controlled setting.
• Encourage consistency: Ongoing training prevents regression and maintains progress.
We strongly encourage all course graduates to attend these sessions, as they provide an excellent opportunity to refine skills, address new challenges, and be part of a community of similar-minded dog owners!
